Michael Dunaway is the Founding Partner of Gasoline Films and of Poitier & Dunaway Motion Pictures; Editor at Large of Paste Magazine, and Creative Director of the Rome Int'l Film Festival, and works in development and acquisitions for Iris Indie. He was the producer and director of 21 Years: Richard Linklater starring Matthew McConaughey, Ethan Hawke, Julie Delpy, Zac Efron, and many others, which was a New York Times Critics Pick and debuted at #8 on iTunes. He was a producer on You're Killing Me, Anne Heche's last film; and on Mario Van Peebles' Outlaw Posse. He was the director and a writer, producer, and actor in Six LA Love Stories, starring Peter Bogdanovich, Carrie Preston, Stephen Tobolowsky, Alicia Witt, and others. He was also the producer and director of The Man Who Ate New Orleans, with Oscar nominee Morgan Spurlock, Emmy winner Natalia Livingston, and James Beard winners John Currence and John Besh. Previously he was a producer and director on several shorter projects, including serving as segment director on Frank Kelly's groundbreaking film 140, which won the Bronze Palm at the Mexico Int'l Film Festival. His short film Bread won Best US Narrative short at the 2011 Rome International Film Festival, where it premiered. He was an Associate Producer on 2011 Independent Spirit Award nominee An African Election. Current projects include a scripted historical civil rights epic with the King and Poitier families. He lives in Atlanta.
