Michael Toland has had a very varied career in the arts. Received a scholarship to the School of Visual Arts in NYC due to early training from his uncle Truman, a chief illustrator for Disney. Also having a passion for music, Michael founded the band "Aloft" named after the loft he lived in with band mates while in SOHO in NYC. Managed by John Cher, they achieved some success opening for Jeff Beck until Michael decided the Rock and Roll lifestyle was not for him. Instead he focused on session guitar work and jingle singing in NYC which led to his introduction to Ad agencies and then to acting in TV commercials. He got the bug and began to study acting in earnest with many great teachers in NYC including Uta Hagen, Warren Robertson and Joanna Merlin. He then landed many guest starring roles on popular TV shows and then a series regular on HBO's first series "1st and 10" which moved him to Los Angeles where he continued to study with Bill Espers. Michael has also continued his music career, composing and producing music for film and TV.
