Paul R. Puri

Paul Puri is a biracial TV writer and Psychiatrist. Paul began writing short stories as a kid, followed by his first screenplay at 17 and many bad plays in college. He has consulted on over 20 produced film and TV projects, mostly uncredited, on everything from mental illness representation to character development to story. He attended University of Rochester for medical school and UC San Diego for residency training in psychiatry. He has additionally trained in a host of other psychotherapies (7), from Gestalt to CBT to hypnosis. He is an assistant clinical professor at UCLA and the Past-President of the UCLA Psychiatric Clinical Faculty Association.
