Ryan Northcott is a Canadian actor, writer, and director. He gained early recognition as Stevie Weeks in Mystery, Alaska (1999) before moving to Los Angeles, where he was cast as Carl Wilson in the Emmy-nominated The Beach Boys: An American Family. He played Geoff Miller in USA Network's Anna Pigeon and Forensics Lead Mitch Wheeler in Tribal, and appeared as David Chamberlain in the true-crime miniseries Unspeakable: The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey. His other credits include Let Him Go, Jann, Heartland, and Wynonna Earp. He portrayed real-life journalist Julian Sher in the fact-based Marlene, starred as Tom Lawson in The Ties That Bind, and led the Netflix holiday romance Meet Me at the Christmas Train Parade as Zackary Gregory. He also writes and performs sketch comedy. Behind the camera, Ryan has written, directed, and produced several short films, including Ameera, Going Down, and Once Upon a Pandemic, which screened at festivals across North America. Once Upon a Pandemic earned nominations for Best Short Screenplay and Best Short Film, with his daughter Madeleine Murphy-Northcott nominated for Best Alberta Actress. His screenplay Black Iris was a semi-finalist at the 2022 Big Apple Film Festival. He co-founded the production company Mediapop Films in 2011 and has directed more than 50 music videos. Ryan is also an accomplished singer and composer.
