Saleh Bakri

A renowned Palestinian actor whose body of work spans both theater and cinema, Saleh Bakri and director Annemarie Jacir have become synonymous with each other, having first stepped onto the international cinema stage together when Jacir cast him in her debut feature film. Palestine 36 marks their fourth film together. His performances explore a range of political and social themes, engaging with both local narratives and global conversations. After his debut performance in Salt of this Sea (2008), he went on to star in several films including The Time That Remains (2010), Salvo (2013) and The Blue Caftan (2022). Bakri has participated in many of the world's leading film festivals and has received numerous awards from Arab regional, European, and American institutions.
