Starla Christian

Starla Christian is an American Filmmaker/Producer who has been working in film for over 20 years after graduating from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and Dance with Acting and Scenic Painting concentrations. She has experience in many different positions all of which have helped her grow and learn how to be a better producer. Outside of producing, she has the most experience as a Production Designer of which she's designed sets for over 60 films/projects. She also enjoys being an AD but her heart's passion is producing as well as writing and directing. Starla started her own Production company, Speed of Light Productions in 2007 with the heart to bring new material and to create projects that produce something powerful from within; films that Inspire, Guide, Release, and Empower; to stretch the boundaries in a truthful way and to step out of the natural box and see beyond. That same year, she produced her first feature, Deadland Dreaming. Other films Starla produced recently are A Cowgirl's Story (2016) starring Bailee Madison and Pat Boone, Christmas Break-In (2018) starring Danny Glover and Denise Richards, The Message (2018) starring Tori Keeth and Chloe Lukasiak, The Farmer and The Belle (2019) starring Jenn Gotzon Chandler and Jim Chandler, Destination Marfa (2019) starring Tony Todd, Richard Riehle, and Stelio Savante, The Place In Between (2019) starring Valerie Michelson and her latest film produced, A Cowgirl's Song (2021) starring Cheryl Ladd, Savannah Lee May and Darci Lynn. Christian says she considers herself more of a creative producer who loves building the team first and then helping the vision of the director to come alive as well as working alongside the editor to carve out the story from a fresh perspective. "Watching a film come together from filming to the screen is one of the most rewarding experiences that I have making movies, next to having the cast and crew screening and sharing with all of those involved."
