Sushmita Mukherjee, a multifaceted talent in the Indian entertainment industry, has left an indelible mark as an accomplished film and television actress, and author. Born in New Delhi, India, into a Brahmin household, Sushmita's journey in the world of performing arts began at an early age. She pursued her post-graduation from Jesus and Mary College, Women's College in New Delhi, and further honed her skills at the prestigious National School of Drama from 1980 to 1983. Sushmita made her foray into the film industry in 1987 with the movie "Yeh Woh Manzil Toh Nahin," sharing the screen with the legendary Naseeruddin Shah. Known for her diverse roles, Sushmita Mukherjee garnered appreciation for her portrayal of blind Mangala Dadi in the movie "Golmaal" (2006). Her cinematic repertoire includes a wide array of films such as "Main Zinda Hoon," "Khalnayak," "Dillagi," "Kyaa Kool Hai Hum," "Golmaal," "Ugly Aur Pagli," "Dostana," "Aaja Nachle," "Batti Gul Meter Chalu," and she even made her Hollywood debut in 2008 with "The Other End of the Line." However, it was on the small screen that Sushmita became a household name. Her role as Kitty in the iconic Indian detective TV serial "Karamchand" in 1985 catapulted her to fame. Over the years, she has showcased her versatility in more than 50 television serials, including popular shows like "Ishqbaaaz," "Krishna Chali London," "Madhubala," and "Kabhi Saas Kabhi Bahu." Beyond her professional achievements, Sushmita's personal life has been marked by significant relationships. She was initially married to film director Sudhir Mishra in 1978, but they later divorced. Subsequently, she tied the knot with Raja Bundela, an actor and politician, in 1993. The couple has been blessed with two sons, Rudransh Bundela and Rudranuj Bundela. Sushmita Mukherjee's enduring presence in the entertainment industry, coupled with her literary pursuits, showcases a woman of substance and talent, leaving an indomitable legacy in Indian cinema and television.
