Theodore Newton is a writer, actor, and producer born and bred in San Diego and based in Los Angeles. After several years acting and performing on stages in New York City, he moved back to his home state of California to pursue his first love of writing, receiving his Masters Certificate in Screenwriting at UCLA. On screen, you may find him as Jake Tucker in This Side Up, a romantic dramedy about a struggling screenwriter, dumped by his high school sweetheart and, having no sense of direction in his life, moving into a public storage unit where he figures out life in a funny way; as Ethan in Yung-Jen Yang’s horror feature, Locked Alone, which had its theatrical premiere in New York City; and as Scott Baxter in Independent Filmmakers Showcase’s Best Drama Film award-winning feature, What’s My Name Again?, a period coming-of-age dramedy based in 1980s Southern California, streaming on Prime Video. Off the screen, Theo has written short films and two up and coming feature screenplays, one of which is based on his own experiences as a new father and girl-dad.
