Tim Bell

Tim Bell is a creative producer and director with over 17 years' experience delivering bold, original work across theatre, audio, digital, installation, and live performance - with an emerging focus on film and screen-based storytelling. He is currently Senior Creative Producer at Complicité, one of the UK's most celebrated theatre companies. At Complicité, Tim has led on major international productions including Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead, an adaptation of Olga Tokarczuk's novel, and Figures in Extinction, a cross-disciplinary dance collaboration with Crystal Pite and Nederlands Dans Theater. He produced the revival of Mnemonic at the National Theatre and edited the companion book Mnemonic: A Site. His screen-related producing work includes Can I Live, a filmed performance created by Fehinti Balogun exploring the intersection of climate justice and racial equity, and The Dark is Rising, a BBC World Service audio drama adapted by Robert Macfarlane and Simon McBurney, which reached over 1.5 million listeners worldwide. Tim has also produced award-winning live work for young audiences, directed devised and new writing pieces across the UK, and co-founded Shanty Theatre Company, creating place-based touring work in rural settings. He is a Clore Leadership alumnus and a passionate advocate for artist-led development, cultural access, and storytelling that challenges form as much as content.
