Tom Keune is an actor who moves comfortably between worlds. He grew up in western Germany, surrounded by forest and small towns, and now lives in Berlin with his children. The city offers anonymity and focus; his grounding comes from elsewhere. He found acting through a school theatre group. No early breakthrough, no straight line. Theatre shaped him for many years - artistically and personally - but its rigid structures and constant availability eventually led him to shift toward film and television. A conscious decision in favor of autonomy. Keune is drawn to complex, vulnerable characters rather than polished archetypes: people at turning points, whose certainties begin to crack. He approaches roles with precision, seriousness and restraint. International audiences know him from his portrayal of Nazi official Robert Ley in NUREMBERG, alongside Rami Malek and Russell Crowe. Privately, Keune values simplicity over ritual. Family time, calm, presence. No myth-making - just attention to the moment. That, for him, is the work as much as the work itself.
