Director, Producer, Writer
Will Adams is a Chicago-based writer, producer, and director, and the founder of Lokekey Productions, an independent film company focused on original storytelling and theatrical exhibition. A graduate of Columbia College Chicago (2002), Adams has built a reputation in independent filmmaking by creating feature films, web series, and festival-screened projects that highlight Chicago's diverse cinema culture. As a writer and producer, Adams developed Sex Ain't Love (2014), which sold out its premiere screenings and secured multiple theatrical runs, and Step Off the Block (2017), which also had a theatrical release and received Chicago media coverage. As a director, Adams helmed Tube-E Movie (2025), a satirical dark comedy feature film parodying low-budget streaming movies that screened in Chicago theaters. He also created the web series Plight of the Independent Filmmaker (2019-2020), available on YouTube, which explores the challenges of grassroots filmmaking and has been adapted into a completed feature script. Additional projects developed through Lokekey Productions include the crime-thriller This Ain't Pulp Fiction, the comedy series Fluke, the music-industry drama In Our Own Lane, and the action-thriller Elena. Adams continues to champion independent cinema, urban storytelling, and Chicago filmmakers, producing projects that connect with both local audiences and international markets.
