Yuri Rutman

Yuri Rutman is a Ukrainian born actor, director, writer, and producer who grew up in Chicago. His last film, "Trained", was acquired and released globally by the officially distributor of Academy Award Nominated Short Films, Shorts.TV. Shorts.Tv is partially owned by AMC Networks. He has also guest starred on NBC's "Chicago PD", FOX's "The Unit", many indie films, and, he starred in a national tv commercial for letgo.com which was directed by Craig Gillespie ("Cruella", "I Tonya", "Fright Night", "The Finest Hours", "Mr. Woodcock"). Yuri was also an Executive Producer at Spike TV, Fremantle Media, and created the reality TV show "Warsaw Chicago". His first film, "Mr. Id", was produced with the help of a venture capital investor he met in a Lions Gate Entertainment Stock message board who wired him the film investment without meeting him, based on his business plan and the screenplay for "Mr. Id". Born in Kiev, Ukraine, his family relocated to Israel,and eventually settled in Chicago. He speaks fluent Russian. He is a Blue Belt In Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Rubens "Cobrinha" Charles Maciel, and, he started his BJJ training with Jeff Serafin in Chicago. He competed in the 2017 IBJJF Pan Ams In Irvine, CA. Yuri also holds a Level 2 Muay Thai rank under Rick Sollo & The Aiki Training Hall. Apart from entertainment, he is also a venture advisor and co-founder in a few startups.
