Seeing Canada

Brandy Yanchyk travels to Iqaluit, Nunavut to learn about Inuit culture and explore the Arctic tundra region and its unique plant life. She meets local artisans and discovers the joys of soap making soap using local produce. In Bella Coola, British Columbia, Brandy gets up-close and personal with grizzly bears in the wild.

Brandy Yanchyk boards an expedition vessel and explores some of eastern Canada's remote locations including Sable Island, the Magdalene Islands, Bonaventure Island, Gros Morne National Park, and Cape Breton Island. Her last stop sees her step back in time to the 18th century at the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site.

Brandy Yanchyk explores the remote communities of Twillingate, Change and Fogo Islands in Central Newfoundland to learn about the cod industry, visit the Newfoundland Pony Sanctuary, and enjoy humpback whale watching. Next Brandy Yanchyk travels to Dawson City, Yukon to learn about its gold rush history. She even leaves a little richer!

Then she searches for beluga whales and polar bears along the Hudson Bay coastline at Churchill, Manitoba and learns about dog mushing and dog sledding.

In this episode, Brandy Yanchyk explores the indigenous culture, culinary delights, and agritourism of Okanagan in British Columbia. Then she learns to sail on Lake Superior and mines for amethyst in a quarry in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

In the final episode of the series of Seeing Canada, Brandy Yanchyk explores the Northwest Territories to meet locals, explore the environment, and see the aurora borealis - the Northern Lights. Then she takes the 12-hour VIA Skeena train trip from Jasper, Alberta, to Prince George and Prince Rupert, British Columbia to meet with local communities.
