Former popstar Adam Faith is Ron 'Budgie' Bird, a petty crook who finds himself embroiled in cheap scams and get-rich-quick schemes - none of which seems to end in success and all of which seem to get Budgie in trouble with the police and his dodgy underworld boss (Ian Cuthbertson).
