John Sweeney killed two of his former girlfriends and then dumped their dismembered bodies in canals in Rotterdam and London in 1990 and 2000. He was sentenced in 2011 and was given a whole life tariff.

In 2012 one eyed gangster Dale Cregan went on a ruthless killing spree and murdered 4 people in Greater Manchester. He killed father and son David and Mark Short and the PC Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes in three separate attacks.

In 1991, 42 year old Christopher Hightower slaughtered an entire family to cover up a trail of fraud. He buried his victims in shallow graves. On the 8th of June 1993 he was sentenced to life without parole.

David Berkowitz aka the Son of Sam is a serial killer who murdered 6 people and brutally wounded 7 others in the late 1960s. When he was arrested he claimed that the devil made him do it. He was sentenced to 365 years in prison.

In July 1992, Robert Napper stabbed 23-year-old Rachel Nickel in front of her 2-year-old son. In November 1993, he broke into the home of 27-year-old Samantha Bisset and stabbed her to death, then assaulted and suffocated her 4-year-old daughter.

63-year-old Sante and her 23 year old son Kenny Kimes were a murderous duo who killed three people in the late-90s, including an 82 year old woman. In 2000 Sante was sentenced to 120 years in prison and Kenny was given 125 years.

Manchester 2012. 45-year-old Stephen attempted to kill his parents and nephew, in a car crash he staged for money. After the plan failed, the ruthless killer mercilessly executed his elderly parents with a sawn-off shot gun.

Richard Trenton Chase was an American serial killer who brutally murdered 6 people within a month in the late 70s in California. His youngest victim was a 22-month-old toddler. Chase was given the nickname 'The Vampire of Sacramento'.

In December 1998, The Railroad Killer, 38-year-old Angel Resendiz brutally beat Dr Claudia Benton to death in her own home. He's suspected of murdering at least 9 more people. He evaded authorities by using a multitude of aliases.

'Model employee' 41-year-old Bill Suff mutilated and murdered 12 sex-workers in Riverside, California during the late 80s. At its peak, his spree of killings resulted in a victim a month.

In the late-70s, adoptive cousins 43-year-old Angelo Buono and 26-year-old Kenneth Bianchi reigned terror over Los Angeles by strangling 10 young women and girls and dumping their bodies on hillsides.

Once a respected local GP in Hyde, Manchester, Dr Harold Shipman became better known as Dr Death. In January 2000, Shipman was found guilty of 15 counts of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.

42 year old rapist Arthur Hutchinson escaped from police custody in October 1983. Whilst on the run, he broke into the Laitner's house in Dore, Yorkshire and murdered 3 family members, then raped 18 year old Nicola Laitner.

46-year-old Robert Ben Rhoades, aka the Truck Stop Killer raped and tortured women in the back of his truck for over a decade from the mid 70s.

47-year-old Andrew Dawson brutally stabbed his neighbors to death before leaving their bodies in bathtubs full of water and bleach. Almost 29 years earlier, Dawson had savagely murdered an elderly shopkeeper and spent 17 years behind bars.

49-year-old Peter Moore was a sadistic serial killer who killed and mutilated four men in North Wales in 1995. The local cinema owner had an obsession with Nazi's and sadomasochistic sex.

Daniel Siebert was an American serial killer who confessed to killing 10 people in the 1980s. At the height of his killing spree, he murdered 5 people, including 2 children and his girlfriend in 1 day.

Todd Kohlhepp was a serial killer who murdered 7 people over a 13-year period.

21-year-old Anthony Arkwright slaughtered his grandparents before murdering and mutilating 2 neighbours in a rampage over a 4-day period in 1988.

41-year-old Andrzej Kunowski was a prolific paedophile who entered the UK illegally in 1996.
