Naked City

After escaping prison by informing on his wife's brother, who's sent up for the robbery they committed, Paul Delito's wife leaves him, vowing to teach their son to curse his father for snitching. The only thing sustaining Delito is the hope of winning forgiveness, and when his brother -in-law is later released and in hiding after committing murder, he seeks out the man to plead for his pardon.

A young man, whose soul has been sickened by his grandmother's tales of chivalry, uses an old dueling pistol to shoot a man who has been fighting with his girlfriend in Central Park. While detectives search for the unknown sniper, he wounds another man and attacks his sister's boyfriend.
