Golden Kamuy

Sugimoto and Asirpa reunite in Karafuto. They renew their partner's contract and after Kiroranke's death and Ogata's escape, they cross the Russian border with the advanced party. On their way back to Hokkaido, they make a stop at the town of Shisuka to send Lieutenant Tsurumi a telegram, notifying him of the situation. When Sugimoto returns with miso, trouble broils. Their ally is shot!

Hijikata and Ushiyama have been poisoned and buried alive. The dazed Ushiyama escapes, but ends up striking a peculiar friendship with a misfit boy. Kadokura and Kirawus receive a ransom note from Sekiya, who will reveal Hijikata's location in exchange for the tattooed skins. The only problem? Nagakura has the skins, and he's gone! With time running out, what's their next move?

Nikaidou and Usami join Sergeant Major Kikuta and Private Ariko at the 7th Division's hot spring base. Unbeknownst to the soldiers, Anji Toni and his men have been gathering intel, but suspicions grow after Ariko spots a man in the mountains. When Ariko and Kikuta go searching for him, Toni's men prepare to ambush them first.

In old Kagoshima, teenage Koito lives the life of a spoiled brat and town menace, until the day Lt. Tsurumi arrives and literally slaps some sense into him. Tsurumi gets Koito to open up about his grief over his dead brother, and the two promise to meet again someday. 2 years later, that promise is fulfilled in Hakodate when Koito is kidnapped, and Tsurumi must act to save him!

Sugimoto's group receive notice that Lieutenant Tsurumi is coming to meet them in Toyohara. Asirpa, desperate to catch wolverines in the mountains, performs a ritual. Sugimoto wonders why a modern Ainu woman loves tradition. Asirpa is trying to find a way to preserve Ainu culture, but doesn't know how. Just as the pair meet a group of photographers, a wolverine pounces on them from above.

Lieutenant Tsurumi is intrigued to receive Toni's tattooed skin, brought to him by Ariko. However, Ariko grabs the skin at night and flees. When he stumbles across Toni, who is still alive, it appears that Ariko is a traitor... But there is more to it than meets the eye. Lieutenant Tsurumi, who had discovered Ariko and Hijikata's bond, blackmailed him to take the skins and infiltrate as a mole.

When Sugimoto's group meets Lieutenant Tsurumi face-to-face, he spins a fanciful web of lies to lure Asirpa away from the group. But Asirpa is no fool and refuses to cooperate unless the gold is used for the Ainu. Grotesque brain fluid leaks from Tsurumi's forehead as he throws back his head in laughter at her words. As everyone flinches in disgust, Asirpa releases an arrow into the sky.

After arriving in Hokkaido, Sugimoto's group learns that they can extract gold dust from the Uryu River. But a murderous wenkamuy bear has been spotted nearby, and a number of gold diggers have been killed. In need of money for travelling, Sugimoto and his comrades venture into the area and run into Heita, a digger who teaches them how to extract the precious gold dust.

Gold digging has come to a standstill with the death of Heita, but Sugimoto sets his sights on a new target when a gold specimen points to the escaped pirate Boutarou. Ogata joins Hijikata after escaping Sugimoto in Karafuto and regales his escape from Abashiri Prison. He mentions Sofia, and says that Asirpa can now crack the code. Meanwhile, a serial prostitute killer is on the loose in Sapporo!

Lt. Tsurumi tells Tanigaki that Inkarmat is pregnant with his child and orders him to bring back Asirpa in exchange for his release. Tanigaki returns to Hokkaido and decides he wants to stay with Inkarmat and the child. He finds out where she is due to give birth and the two reunite. But Tsukishima appears and holds Tanigaki at gun point for defying Lt. Tsurumi's orders!

While Hijikata and Lt. Tsurumi are investigating the murders in Sapporo, Sugimoto comes across an Ainu kotan in the Sorachi River region. He learns of a tattooed man in Utashinai, but decides this is not one of the escaped convicts when he finds the man with only a tattooed face. Asirpa catches the man saying something only an escaped convict would know before they lose him. Just who is this man?

Shiraishi is eager to join forces with Boutarou, but Sugimoto is reluctant. Boutarou realizes he has been targeted when he sees what Sugimoto is carrying, and Asirpa manages to thwart his sneak attack. Sugimoto and Boutarou fight, hit a tree branch, and tumble into the river. Boutarou tries to drag Sugimoto down to the bottom. Does Sugimoto even stand a chance against this water-dwelling pirate?!

Usami masturbates during the hunt for the serial killer. Kikuta, in his disgust, compares him to Ogata, and Usami angrily goes on to tell the history of Ogata murdering his younger brother Yuusaku to test his father's affection. Ogata attacked Usami for mocking him while he was in hospital and ran away. Based on his memories, Usami believes Ogata will definitely show up again…
