A body is found in a river, sparking an investigation in a small Icelandic town.

With no police support until the snowstorm clears, Andri and his team need to work fast.

Hj̦rtur Stef��nsson is a young man with a troubled past. Sentenced to jail for arson and manslaughter a few years back, he has a story to tell. A story Andri must listen to.

It's now apparent that the victim spent the night in town before his death. This excludes him from being a passenger from the ferry. But who was he, and who were his enemies?

The avalanche has caused a total blackout in the little town. Plunged into darkness, the people are anxious and afraid. The mayor has a surprise visitor.

The people of the town are uneasy and agitated. They gather in the church, demanding answers. The situation is nightmarish. Police Chief Andri ��lafsson is asked to speak to them, and he needs to tell them the truth.

The weather is finally improving and the investigation team from Reykjav�_k arrives. In record-breaking time they manage to get a confession to both murders. But sometimes things are just too good to be true.

Captain Carlsen agrees to work with the police. On the ferry, it transpires that one crew member is wanted by police all over Europe. He proves to be a difficult catch.

Andri has found a key, the discovery of which could have serious implications for his whole family. Should he keep this revelation to himself?

Andri and Hinrika obtain a confession to the murder of Geirmundur J�_nsson. The connection between Geirmundur and his killer was not widely known in town, and soon we�۪ll know why.
