In 1914, Earnest Shackleton sets out on an expedition to the South Pole aboard the ship Endurance. He and his crew are tasked with laying supply depots across the Great Ice Barrier, a journey of 1,800 miles. After his ship is trapped and crushed in the freezing pack ice, Shackleton must lead his twenty-eight man crew through the brutal elements to reach safety on the other side of the continent.

Death is a risk with every footstep, and the hope of rescue becomes dimmer with each passing day.
