Dinosaur Discovery

Today we will be exploring hadrosaur's in great detail, travelling to each and every continent in which they thrived, usually throughout the Late Cretaceous. We will be taking a look at the diversity in hadrosaur forms, looking at how they lived and what they looked like, dipping into their discoveries along the way. Join us, as we take meet one of the most diverse groups of reptiles ever to live.

The maniraptoran theropod dinosaurs, members of the family Dromaeosauridae, are among the most famous and commonly depicted of all dinosaurs, and were one of the most widespread and successful theropod clades. The family was officially described and established by William D. Matthew and Barnum Brown in 1922, but at this point, many dromaeosaur genera were poorly understood.

Dinosaurs are not extinct. Although the mighty Tyrannosaurus won't make an appearance on your morning commute to work, you won't see a pack of troodontids leap over your back garden fence, and the vast herds of hadrosaurs are a thing of the past - dinosaurs still walk among us in the form of birds. All birds are descended from theropod dinosaurs.

Today, we will meet the fascinating little theropod in all its glory. This is a dinosaur that we know in incredible detail, right down to the colours of its feathers. From its discovery to how it lived, sit back as we take a journey through time to explore the life of Sinosauropteryx.
