Naruto, Sakura and Sasame are attacked by Kamikiri, Jigumo and Kagero of the Fuma Clan. Jiraiya arrives just in time and joins in the fight. Guided by Sasame, the trio arrives at the entrance to the Hidden Sound Village where Orochimaru is hiding out!

Jiraiya uses his Summoning Jutsu to call out Gamakichi. With Gamakichi leading the way, the shinobi advance up winding stairways and through long tunnels. They soon come to a forked path, so Naruto and Sakura head down one path while Jiraiya goes down the other…

Sakura is cornered by Orochimaru! Just as Kabuto is about to hurl his kunai at her, Naruto comes running in. Naruto forces Kabuto to use up his knives, so he responds with his Fire Style: Misty Flames Dance Jutsu, and Naruto’s clones go up in smoke!

Naruto tries to shield Sakura from an attack and is wounded by Kamikiri. Naruto laughs off his injury and counters with his Shadow Clone Jutsu…

Naruto gets upset when Jiraiya sets out on a sudden mission without him. Jiraiya tells him to undergo special training during his absence and hands him a scroll.

Shizune pursues Mizuki who has escaped from the Maximum Security Prison, but is overcome by him and the brothers Raijin and Fujin. At the Hidden Leaf Hospital, Naruto senses that Orochimaru is behind Mizuki’s escape and approaches Tsunade.

Raijin and Fujin possess superhuman strength, and Naruto is no match for them. He uses his Shadow Clone Jutsu to buy time, but then a super-strong trio appears to help him out!

Shikamaru, Ino and Choji come to the rescue. The three have been sent by Tsunade to assist, allowing Naruto and Pakkun to go after Mizuki.

Naruto discovers that Tsubaki is Mizuki’s fiancée. She has an idea of his whereabouts and asks the squad to take her with them.

Naruto and Iruka are left in a daze by the power of Mizuki’s chakra. Naruto counters with a jutsu but is quickly rebuffed. In order to protect Naruto, Iruka brings out his kunai. In the midst of the fierce battle, something strange happens to Mizuki’s body and the team notices his transformation…

Kiba, Shino and Hinata have come up with an idea to use the Bikochu beetle to find Sasuke. The Bikochu beetle’s sense of smell is several thousand times more sensitive than a ninja dog, and it is skilled in tracking. It was widely used in the past but is now a rare beetle. The Hokage orders Squad 8, and Naruto, who was eavesdropping, to go and find the Bikochu Beetle.

Squad 8 and Naruto arrive at the Bikochu’s habitat. They use a photograph to guide them in their search, but Naruto is unable to tell the difference between the bugs. Concealing themselves, Suzumebachi, Kurobachi and Jibachi spy on them and also conspire to take possession of a Bikochu!

Hinata is kidnapped by Suzumebachi and others from the Kamizuru Clan. In order to find the hidden scroll of their founder, which contains deadly forbidden jutsu, they are trying to take possession of a Bikochu beetle. Naruto and his comrades decide to get Hinata back and protect the Bikochu by handing over a fake.

Naruto, Kiba and Shino are pursued and find themselves cornered in the hive of a queen bee. Shino declares that unless Hinata is freed, they will not hand over the Bikochu. Suzumebachi agrees to Shino’s condition, and the group heads to where Hinata is being held. But she’s not there!

While training in the Hidden Leaf Village, Naruto rescues three men from the rapids who have come to request a mission. Katabami, a thriving mining town in River Country, has been taken over by hooligans calling themselves the Kurosuki Family. Tsunade orders Naruto, Lee, Neji and Tenten on a mission to escort the three men back to Katabami Gold Mine and remove the Kurosuki Family.

The Kurosuki gang captures Rokusuke, and Raiga tells him that he will hold a funeral for him! Meanwhile, Naruto has heard enough bragging from the Kurosuki men and can no longer keep his temper in check.

Raiga and Ranmaru use their Hidden Mist Jutsu to conceal themselves in Katabami Gold Mine, where even Neji’s Byakugan cannot detect them. Naruto, Lee, Neji and Tenten are blown unconscious with Raiga’s jutsu. Just as Raiga is about to deliver the finishing blow, Lee gets him with a swift kick!

The Kurosuki Family is dispersed, and peace returns to Katabami Gold Mine. However, Karashi seems to be up to something. Later, members of the Kurosuki who have been hidden high on a cliff launch a surprise attack!

Raiga comes back to life, only to see Ranmaru lying deathly still on the ground. Despondent, Raiga unleashes violent thunder. Tenten desperately tries to stop Raiga, but his anger is unstoppable!

Despite his injuries, Lee keeps on fighting desperately. But the tornado that envelopes Raiga’s attack takes the form of a dragon, and Lee is swallowed up by it.

Naruto is chosen to lead Konohamaru, Moegi and Udon in a survival training exercise. Their destination is the Stone Face of Warudakumi at the top of Mt. Takurami…

Tsunade orders Naruto, Hinata, Kiba and Akamaru on a mission to capture the thief Gosunkugi. They go to the Land of Stone where he is supposedly hiding out and try to get more information, but are attacked. A bounty hunter named Sazanami saves them from the touchy situation.

Naruto and the others tend to an injured Sazanami. As Sazanami tells it, he had once been a swordsmith in a peaceful town and was framed for a murder committed by Gosunkugi.

While Guy and Lee are away, two impostors dressed like them sneak into Hidden Leaf Village. Kakashi sees through their pitiful disguises immediately, but he leaves them alone after Tsunade decides that they wouldn’t fool anyone...anyone, that is, besides Naruto!

The Land of Birds is in turmoil due to a specter known as the Cursed Warrior, which is believed to be the ghost of Lord Owashi, the previous feudal lord who died suddenly. Tsunade agrees to send Naruto, Neji, Lee and Tenten to help. Immediately upon arriving in the Land of Birds, they encounter the Cursed Warrior...
