R.J. Mitchell was born in England in 1917. He designed the 'Spitfire' airplane, which helped England to victory during WWII. At the end of his life, Mitchell said, "If anybody ever tells you anything about an aeroplane which is so bloody complicated you can't understand it, take it from me: it's all balls." He was a remarkable man who designed a remarkable plane.
