The Adulterer

When Iris and Willem meet, the attraction is immediate. Unfortunately, they are both married, Iris to state prosecutor Pepijn, and Willem to Elsie, the daughter of a dubious real estate tycoon, Huub Couwenberg.

Louis Karelse is pronounced dead, the cause--murder. With many enemies, there are many suspects, including his brother-in-law, Huub.

Eyebrows are raised when a curious and substantial amount of money is transferred to Huub's business account -- from a source that no one can easily identify.

The investigation into Louis' death continues, and exposes some shocking discoveries. It seems that everyone has secrets to hide, lies to tell, or promises to keep.

Iris faces a dilemma as Pepijn makes some demands. When the phone rings in Pepijn and Iris' house, babysitter Tess is horrified when she hears the message.

Iris reaches a heart-breaking decision. Huub begins to question Willem's loyalty and starts his own 'investigation.' He is not happy with what he discovers.

Willem and Elsie's children lose their innocence as they start to uncover some truths about their family.

Willem decides to resign from working for Huub, but Huub will not let him go easy -- a deal is struck.

Björn is struggling to cope and is showing signs of cracking under the pressure of facing manslaughter charges. Huub needs to act fast if he is going to help his son. Iris demands the truth from Willem.

It must be determined whose fingerprints are on the champagne bottle that was found by Mireille's side -- has someone tampered with police evidence?

Willem finds himself in court. As several witnesses are called to the witness stand (Elsie, Joachim, and Huub), it appears the net is closing in on Willem.

Iris takes the witness stand to tell the court what really happened on May 16th.
