As Danny and Baez escort confiscated drugs to a remote location for incineration, their convoy is attacked and Baez is seriously injured, leaving Danny to track down the drug cartel responsible on the fifth season premiere.

NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason pays a visit to Commissioner Frank Reagan at his office. Reagan thanks Esiason for his work with the Women and Kids Fundraiser but Boomer makes a request that even the Chief of Police will find difficult to grant.
