Peter happily takes to his responsibilities as an uncle and helps prepare for Daniel’s christening. He also helps a representative of the Women's Institute, who wants to prevent the demolition of a local lighthouse, while Lyle deals with two brothers who run rival fast-food trucks.

Peter must hide Simon, who is shocked to find that he is a father, while also dealing with a dispute at the retirement home where his aunt Auriel lives. Meanwhile, Lyle must solve the problem of an access path to a nudist beach that has offended some of the locals.

After Simon is arrested, Peter puts Lyle on the case to defend him. A pregnant woman asks Peter's help to put pressure on an American serviceman from the local army base, claiming he is the father of her unborn baby.

Simon is released on bail but continues to cause problems when he ends up involved in a case Peter is working: a dispute between his friend and a local sex-shop owner.

Lyle runs the office while Gloria is on holiday but ends up causing some trouble. At Cambridge, Peter helps Professor Barkway resolve a dispute with another lecturer.

Peter is occupied with Simon's trial when Beatrice returns home with her new baby daughter. Lyle is set to make his theater debut at Aunt Auriel's home, but a terrible storm interrupts the production.
