Season 2 premiere. Pope Alexander VI takes a new lover and hosts a grand celebration; the rivalry between Cesare and Juan spills into the streets; Lucrezia tends to her newborn child; Della Rovere escapes assassination.

Season 2. The father of Lucrezia's child travels to Rome but suffers an unfortunate fate at the hands of Juan; the Pope's lovers take him in disguise on a tour of Rome's indigent.

Season 2. Lucrezia embarks on a hunger strike over her father's refusal to allow a Catholic burial for her lover; the French turn back toward Rome; Della Rovere slips back into the city.

Season 2. Cesare recruits a band of mercenaries to seek revenge on the retreating French troops; the Pope forges more strategic alliances; Lucrezia joins Giulia's quest to aid Rome's poor.

Season 2. Cesare deals with the cunning Sforzas decisively; Alexander travels to Florence in disguise to hear the fiery preacher Savonarola.

Season 2. Juan's triumph in Spain is short-lived; Lucrezia scuttles a scheme to marry her off to a rich merchant; Savonarola conducts the infamous "Bonfire of the Vanities."

Juan returns to Rome trying to spin his combat injury as proof of his valor, but Cesare exposes his brother's ignoble behavior. Della Rovere's assassin advances their agenda with a bold move against the Pope's food taster.

Cesare is forced to make a chilling decision about his brother Juan.

Season 2 finale. The assassin strikes with a poisoned chalice of wine.
