A week has passed since the fire and Alex's mysterious disappearance, but then he returns with his new fiancée and he unknowingly breaks Stevie's heart. Just when Tess is starting to get on top of things, she gets a call that sets her back: Nick's remains have been found. Jodi finally reveals to Tess that they are sisters, but things don't go as she had hoped thanks to Dave.

Alex and Fiona's engagement is publicly announced thanks to a meddling Harry. Meanwhile, a jealous Stevie, prompted by Dave, looks into Fiona's past and discovers something shocking. Meanwhile, Tess asks Jodi to move into the main house, as she is desperate to forge a closer relationship with her newfound sister. However, bonding between them is not easy.

Stevie is trying to deal with the fact that Alex may never be hers. She brings home a very young guy for the night, a move which ultimately endangers the land of Drovers Run. Meanwhile, Jodi comforts Rob and they are brought closer together when he reveals a secret. Terry discovers Moira is living at the truck stop and he helps her find a temporary home.

After the crop-dusting incident, Drovers has lost its contracts for organic produce and the women struggle to keep the bank from taking over. Trying to help, Stevie ends up gambling away Drover money. Meanwhile, Sandra takes advantage of their weakness by messing up Tess's deal with a buyer. Ultimately, Stevie has to save the day by making a deal with the same man who skinned her at cards.

Jodi is stunned when Tess offers her half her share of Drovers Run. Tess feels that Jodi should have equity in the family heritage, as well as sharing their current debt. Leo, the pilot who dumped pesticide on Drovers Run, returns and tries to make Harry lift the black ban placed on him. Harry refuses, but soon his prize bull is found dead and he begins receiving death threats.

Kate falls and when Dave gives her a cursory examination, he notices a small sunspot on her back. After numerous attempts to convince her to see a doctor, Dave abducts Kate and drives her to the Gungellan GP. Meanwhile, Moira closes up her Mystic Miranda psychic business at the truck stop but starts having premonitions about Tess and Nick. Then, Tess receives a stunning phone call.

Nick returns home to Drovers Run but is troubled by shadowy flashbacks of Argentina and his mugging. Meanwhile, Kate secretly goes to see a cancer specialist in the city, but Jodi figures out that something is going on and follows her. Along the way, Jodi must face her own problems when she runs into her mother.

Nick is anxious to start up the cattle breeding program he never had the chance to realise in Argentina. Tess and Stevie move Phoenix to a safer paddock, but another visit from the Brumbies leads to the discovery that she is already pregnant, no doubt to the brumby stallion. Meanwhile, Jodi discovers that a journalist who claims to be seeking a story on Nick is actually after Rob.

Jodi risks her own life in an attempt to save Rob from the hitman that is hunting him, and with her courage, common sense and bushcraft, they survive the daylight risk. Meanwhile, Dave's brother Patrick returns with a truckload of "liberated" goats. A tense dinner date between Meg and Terry ultimately leads to a night of renewed romance, and next morning Meg finally pops the question.

When Patrick is blinded in a farming accident, he must rely on Kate for help. Stevie and Fiona take on a dodgy horse dealer, gaining a new-found respect for each other. Meanwhile, Meg and Terry adopt a new dream together. They're going to hit the road and hopefully both find something that's been missing from their life.

When Regan returns to Drovers Run, she reveals a tragic secret. Though Tess has left, Jodi, Kate, and Stevie allow her to stay. Meanwhile, Fiona learns she is infertile but hides this information from Alex. Frustrated by Jodi's lack inability to make decisions, Stevie forces Jodi to take her place and responsibility as a part owner of Drovers Run.

When Harry's stud ram is stolen, the Drovers Run women unmask an unlikely sheep rustler. Stevie ends up as Alex's backup best man in case Nick is not back from Argentina in time for the wedding. Sandra is in for a shock when Harry serves her with divorce papers, but he's got even bigger things on his mind as he receives more death threats. Kate and Moira bond as they prepare for a radio quiz.

Jodi is driving back to Drovers Run when her phone rings. For a split second, she takes her eyes off the road and collides with a ute that Harry was driving. Meanwhile, the Japanese trade delegation visits to make an export deal with 'Gungellan Fresh'. Jodi returns and tries to play hostess, but the strain is too much. The girls hustle her away and she confides the awful truth: Harry is dead.

As he prepares for his father's funeral, Alex becomes obsessed with finding out why Harry had secreted away so many things. Stevie struggles to tell Alex that she argued with Harry on the day he died, and fears that it might have prompted the heart attack that killed him. Meanwhile, Kate and Regan are forced to work together when they must deal with a lead poisoning mystery.

Kevin returns unexpectedly and Jodi tells him the news about her real father. He isn't too surprised, though, and Jodi is later devastated to find he was just trying to access her inheritance money. Alex helps the girls' race to shear 500 sheep before morning for an important sale. Meanwhile, Fiona becomes increasingly jealous of Stevie. Desperate not to lose Alex, Fiona tells him she's pregnant.

The day before the big wedding has arrived and Stevie makes a shocking discovery that Fiona has been lying to Alex about being pregnant. Meanwhile, Kate decides to try on Fiona's dress and manages to stain it. She and Jodi work together to fix it, but their efforts go awry. Dave asks Regan to help him learn to dance and the practice brings them closer together.

After a group of brumbies are found shot dead, the girls of Drovers Run suspect a handsome stranger named Riley. Meanwhile, Sandra moves back into Killarney in hopes of carrying out Harry's legacy while Alex is absent. Moira and Regan go into a fuel-carting business together, and Kate decides to find her inner daredevil to try and impress Patrick.

Stevie and Riley have gone into partnership to train the brumbies they saved from the national park, but they clash over techniques when they must have a horse ready for sale in one day. Meanwhile, Sandra and Fiona realise they're at a stalemate when they both secure damaging information about the other. Kate tries to help Patrick study for a test that will certify him to drive Moira's gas truck.

Regan's horse-riding lessons have paid off. She is feeling confident in her ability and excited by the prospect of riding with the Drovers Cross Country team. After a mistake, Regan discovers that Drovers Run lost a contract to Sandra because she caused a paratyphoid outbreak in some cattle. Moira's ex-husband, Hugh, turns up wanting her back, and news arrives that Tess has given birth.

When evidence begins to mount against Stevie, Kate starts to believe that she could be the cause of Harry Ryan's death and must decide if she should go to the police with her suspicions. Meanwhile, Riley learns a local trainer abuses his horses and plans to do something about it. Kate and Patrick's night of passion is interrupted by Kate's preoccupation with the evidence against Stevie.

Kate, who went to the police with her suspicions about Stevie's involvement in Harry's death, struggles to deal with the consequences of her actions. Alex returns from Argentina to find much has changed since he left, and he's got a lot to handle straight away. His thoughts are soon with his wife, however, when Fiona tells him she's lost the baby.

The women of Drovers Run are determined to discover who killed Harry Ryan. When Leo returns to the district and locks horns with Stevie, she becomes convinced that he is the killer. Meanwhile, Alex discovers that Fiona has lied about her pregnancy. When he confronts her, Fiona confesses the whole truth in an effort to get him to kick Sandra out of Killarney for good.

Taking a short cut along the stock route, Moira is horrified when her petrol tanker has a dangerous fuel spill on Drovers Run. Meanwhile, Jodi and Kate struggle to make a decision about the future of the ranch given the possibility that Stevie may go to jail. Despite their vow to try and make their marriage work, Alex and Fiona continue ending up at odds with one another.

Steve is busy trying to tie up loose ends before her trial begins, and Fiona joins the CFS in an attempt to show Alex how she can integrate herself into the town. When Alex and Riley are away from Killarney, doors all over the property are left open. With a storm raging, Stevie pursues Sandra to the cliff-top site of Harry's grave where the truth about his death is finally revealed.

Stevie's daughter, Rose, is coming to stay for a month, and it's the first time they've seen each other in two years. Stevie hopes to rebuild their relationship, but Rose is clear that she is only here for work experience. Also on Stevie's mind is the kiss she and Alex shared. Meanwhile, preparations for Gungellan's 150th-anniversary celebration are underway and Jodi clashes with the organiser.
