Legends of Spark

Spark, a mechanic who dreams of becoming a Racer, has always wanted to own his own engine. Bolt, who comes into the Starlight Repair Shop to be fixed up, tells him that the old ruins are filled with the roar of engines. Spark sneaks out along with his buddy Meep. They find a worn-out old engine and activate it.

Under Flash's tutelage, Spark goes through a dull and gruelling training regime. On learning that Harry is about to take on the Skyracer Trail, anxious Spark rushes to the racetrack that very night, taking his engine and his friend Bellows. The Skyracer Trail is full of dangers to which both Spark and Harry fall victim. With their lives in danger, Spark uses his reversing technique to help.

Spark makes a string of mistakes in training while trying to move as gracefully as Flash. Flash sends him off to retrieve some old tires. It seems like a simple task, but turns out to be anything but. As Spark traverses steep slopes, he comes to understand the true meaning of gracefulness - to be absolutely focused - and finally grasps the secret of the Sprocket.

After their defeat on the Skyracer Trail, Harry can't stop thinking about Spark. During his training, Harry can't seem to get it together. He comes into town to blow off steam, but all he can think about is Spark, and he feels like a fool. Harry comes to the Starlight Repair Shop. When he sees the real Spark, he thinks that Spark is an illusion.

Hairpin also dreams of becoming a Racer, but she has no confidence in herself. When the eccentric Bolt is looking for rainbows all across Tyretown, Hairpin, being kind-hearted and attentive, realises that he has an oil leak. She follows him, and helps him out of a number of sudden scrapes. Bolt gives Hairpin his engine, and encourages her to follow her dreams.

The Skyracer Trail Challenge is about to begin, and Harry and Spark are getting ready at the starting line when Hairpin appears. In the course of the challenge, the three Racers overcome various obstacles, making use of their previous training. But just as they reach the finish line, a gust of wind suddenly blows them across the track.

Spark is afraid of heights, but refuses to admit it. At a celebration, the mysterious high-altitude performer Shango issues a high-altitude challenge to the newly arrived Racers. Though Spark intends to run away before the challenge gets going, he ends up accidentally completing an impressive performance at high altitude and gaining everyone's applause.

To prove his courage, Spark signs up to a "Bravest Car" event, and his progress is documented by a camera drone, Faye. All his "feats of bravery" are failures, and he is ridiculed. In an unexpected earthquake, Marshall is injured by a falling rock, and Spark's attempts to rescue him are caught on camera by Faye. Spark wins a prize for his bravery, and his courage is recognised by everyone.

Spark messes up Hairpin's workroom. Afraid to admit his mistakes, Spark takes Bellows with him to the Duelling Racetrack, trying to find a rare ore to give to Hairpin as compensation. His reckless behaviour puts Bellows in danger, and though he saves him, Spark carelessly lets his engine fall off a cliff. Hairpin rushes there along with Faye and helps Spark to retrieve the engine.

In the midst of a challenge, Harry and Hairpin find themselves trapped on a cliff-edge and their engines are damaged. Spark rushes to the racetrack after having overslept, and discovers that this was all part of Shango's plan. When Spark exposes his scheme, furious Shango sets off an earthquake, putting Harry and Hairpin in mortal danger.

Spark's engine is damaged, and Shango has stolen the design chip for the repair. Spark ignores everyone's objections in order to retrieve the chip, and firmly accepts Shango's challenge, leading to his engine being completely destroyed. The chip is also damaged beyond repair. With his only hope gone, has Spark reached the end of the road? Under a statue of Horus, a new engine design chip appears.

Before the challenge, Spark's mind wanders, and he is unaware of the racetrack's dangers. The challenge at the Duelling Racetrack begins. Hairpin has a bad start, and Harry is eliminated by Shango. At the critical moment, Spark must get through the Dueling Skybridge that can only allow one car to get through.

The Wheel Festival competition is about to begin, and Bellows obtains a magical high-speed tyre-change drill from Marshall, which unexpectedly causes Marshall, Bellows, and Spark to swap bodies. Bellows has no choice but to take Spark's place in the race, but midway through, they unexpectedly swap back the bodies. Bellows discovers that it was all Marshall's fault, and rushes to get back at him.

Because Hairpin saved Bolt's life, she is chosen as one of the Top 10 Most Beautiful Racers, and becomes the talk of Tyretown! In order to shoot a commercial, Hairpin trains under Luna, working hard to practice the most beautiful poses. On the day of the commercial shoot, Hairpin's overcautiousness makes her look like a fool in front of everyone.

Sheriff Ironside hosts a summer camp in Tornado Canyon. Spark, Harry and their friends all sign up. Under Ironside's guidance, they learn common sense for the outdoors, such as rescue passwords. During their final rescue training drills, the mysterious Luna disguises herself as Harry and Spark, and traps them in Tornado Canyon.

Everybody thinks Hairpin's meteor paintjob looks shabby, so she heads to the canyon, wishing on a shooting star to have the greatest paintjob ever. She finds a magical shooting star that produces nano-coatings, and Luna fights with her to finish her own nano-coating. Bolt takes advantage of the commotion to make off with the shooting star. Rushing to catch up to Bolt, Luna gets into an accident.

The TV drama "Battle of the Racers" is going to be filmed, and auditions are being held to cast the main character. With the help of Spark and Bellows, Hairpin goes for an audition, and the friendless Luna is filled with jealousy. Luna disguises herself as Spark, and tricks Hairpin into going into Tornado Canyon. At a critical moment, Spark and Harry catch up to Hairpin.

Luna traps Hairpin in Tornado Canyon, disguises herself as Hairpin, and arrives at the racetrack to compete against Spark and Harry. Spark and Harry are no match for Luna, who is good at drift effortlessly around the racetrack's endless twists and turns. With Faye's help, Hairpin escapes the canyon, executes a perfect drift, and successfully completes the challenge.

Spark has become the spokesman for the "Heat Wave Cafe", and has a fan called Dazzle, whose encouragement has given him a lot of confidence. When a fuel leak causes an accident at the gas station, Dazzle is trapped. The floor is slippery with fuel, making rescue difficult. Spark steps forward bravely, using a tyre chain as a separating strip, making it over the fuel-covered floor to save Dazzle.

Harry and Spark are seeing who can drink the coldest drinks, and Harry loses. Harry heads to the Skywheel Racetrack to train his Sprocket's resistence to the cold. On the way, he encounters Snowblind, and while racing him, he is trapped by a fallen icicle. To rescue Harry, Spark rams the icicle with his own body, persevering until he ultimately breaks it and frees Harry.

Spark and his friends are training in the snow in order to help Bolt, who has mistakenly driven up the snowy mountain and has run out of energy. Bolt suggests that a blue flame could help replenish his energy. Spark and Bellows go looking for it, and run into one of Snowblind's trials. During the trial, Bellows is trapped in an ice cube, and Spark exhausts the last of his energy to save him.

In order to fulfill a pricey order made by Harry, Marshall steals one of Snowblind's snow tyres. Snowblind chases him, leading to Tyretown being covered in frost tracks which cause traffic chaos. Marshall makes up a story about a strange snow-monster Racer in an attempt to escape blame. Spark follows the frost trails, and through careful observation, uncovers Marshall's plot.

The Heat Wave Cafe's new product hits a snag in its development. Marshall takes advantage of the situation and uses a defective product recipe to cheat Nimbus, causing a crisis that could lead to the closure of the Heat Wave Cafe. Buddy goes out to find a recipe, but ends up frozen stiff on the Skywheel Racetrack. When Spark goes out to rescue him, he unexpectedly comes across the real recipe.

The three Racers are about to take on the Skywheel Racetrack Challenge, but Snowblind uses all sorts of tricks to block them. To fight back, Spark and Hairpin team up to block Snowblind, allowing Harry to claim victory. The snow melts, and the secrets that Snowblind buried many years ago begin to emerge.
