MeatEater's One Week In November

Follow Mark, Tony, Clay, and Spencer as they kick off one of the most exciting whitetail weeks of the year for the first episode of One Week in November Season 2. Most of the Crew arrives to their hunting locations as the anticipation and preparation for this week turns into a reality. kwhunting

Day two of One Week in November continues as Mark Kenyon returns to a blood trail from the previous evening. The trail doesn't go far, and Mark is able to find his deer early in the morning. Janis Putelis finally saddles up and dials in his initial strategy while the rest of the Crew quickly pivot for changing weather conditions.

Day three begins with fresh minds and a sense of optimism. E-scouting pays off for Spencer, and with a dusting of fresh snow, makes for an easy blood trail to notch a Montana deer tag. Both Mark and Spencer are on the hunt for new territory to fill another tag and find some November rut action. The rest of the group swap strategies.

From sweltering heat to torrential rain Clay, Tony, and Janis settle in with a major change in hunt conditions. Strategies and positions are reset in attempt to overcome the tough, wet environment. Mark and Spencer have better luck with the weather as they arrive in new locations and acclimate to their area.

Day five continues with unfavorable weather conditions. Tony and Janis test their gear and their patience as regional rainstorms keep the deer tucked away. Spencer's mind begins to wander from mule deer to fossils, while Mark struggles to remember what deer even look like. Midday persistence presents Clay with a full drawn opportunity.

Finally, prime weather conditions bring high hopes for everyone as the sun rises on day six. Mark receives a cell cam image of a solid eight pointer. Janis and Tony frustratingly relocate after a surprisingly slow morning. Clay begins to worry if the deer are somehow one step ahead of him. Spencer's timber sneaking tactics and territory exploration provides success.

As the sun rises on the final day of One Week In November, conditions couldn't be more ideal. Spencer hikes in to pack out his buck from the day before. Clay gets close, but decides to pass on a younger deer. Tony's instinct to pass on a young buck in the morning pays off as bigger buck provides a tight shot opportunity.
