Aquí no hay quien viva

Roberto and Lucia, a young couple, are excited about moving into a middle-class building in a big city. On their first day nothing goes as they thought it would.

Roberto and Lucía are already installed and are about to do some renovations in the apartment. The noise caused by the workers bothers all the neighbors, who decide to make a formal complaint to Juan, the President of the owner's community.

Juan ends up resigning from his position as President of the owner's community, so Lucía takes over. In her first days as President, she discovers that everything is a mess and that in order to fix things, the monthly fee has to be raised.

There is a rumor in the community that Alicia and Belén are prostitutes. This provokes various reactions in the neighborhood, which mobilizes massively to check if it is true.

Someone leaves a baby abandoned in the building's doorway, causing some neighbors with a mother's vocation to dispute it. Roberto befriends José Miguel despite their age difference, neglecting his relationship with Lucía.

Mauri slips and falls down the stairs of the building and has to wear a leg cast. Fernando talks to Juan Cuesta to get him to inform the insurance company and pay for the expenses... but it turns out that they haven't paid for three years.

Emilio and Juan find a rat in the doorway and decide to catch it without saying anything to the neighbors. They fall asleep hoping to surprise it at night and when Juan arrives home in the morning, Paloma suspects he is having an affair.

Roberto returns home to make up with Lucía but finds Carlos, the girl's ex-boyfriend, there. He argues with his ex-girlfriend and decides to move out for good. Roberto pretends that he has started dating Natalia.

Marisa and Vicenta tell Paco, Emilio and José Miguel that many years ago the janitor of the building went crazy and set fire to the house. Paco decides to make a scary movie.

The neighbors are undergoing a technical inspection of the building, which means that they will have to consider spending 24 million pesetas on construction work if they do not want to be evicted.

The video store is transferred and Paloma is determined to set up a boutique, but someone rents the premises to set up a funeral parlor. The neighbors are unwilling to do so and try to put an end to the new business.

Mauri gives her boyfriend an ultimatum: either he comes out of the closet or he leaves her. Emilio has an appendicitis attack and has to be admitted to the hospital. Juan looks for a replacement to take over the building and hires Amador.

Lucia plans to throw a party at her house for her closest friends and some of the building's neighbors. Juan tries to stop her from organizing the "event".

The building's boiler breaks down, leaving all the neighbors without heating and hot water. Fernando has a dinner with his co-workers and decides to bring Mauri and confess to everyone that he is gay.

Juan Cuesta, carried away by his Christmas spirit, decides to organize a gift exchange among neighbors to improve relations within the building. This nice initiative will cause more conflicts than benefits.

Each family prepares Christmas Eve dinner in their own way; Lucía and Roberto decide to celebrate it in their apartment with their parents, Belén at Carlos' parents' house, Emilio in the porter's lodge, but nothing goes as planned.

The neighbors prepare to welcome the new year. Due to various circumstances, several neighbors are deprived of the lucky grapes, so Emilio's father will take advantage of that in order to speculate with such a coveted fruit.
