The Chase

Still reeling after learning of Tom's affair, Anna contemplates life as a single mother. Preoccupied by her concern for her sister, Sarah delays responding to Adrian's marriage proposal. The arrival of Claudie's sister, Paula, brings complications.

Stunned by the discovery that George's death may not have been an accident, the staff at the Chase face a day of police questioning. Sarah makes up her own mind about who is responsible and decides to confront the situation head-on.

Anna is nowhere to be found, and a worried Tom takes matters into his own hands as he wonders where she is-and with whom. Meanwhile, with Deborah also gone and the clinic in chaos, Anna finds comfort from a surprising source.

Deborah returns to work, but keeping the peace between her and Clare isn't easy. Clare's frustration with Rick's family life grows as his insecurities about their relationship deepen. The clinic deals with an emergency.

Sarah looks forward to her wedding, but everything seems to be going wrong-and then a life-and-death situation casts her entire future into doubt. Adrian, Anna, and Sebastian try to put the pieces back together.

Fiona is accepted into university to study veterinary medicine, but she needs a reference to prove her experience. Claudie is under pressure to protect Liam when the police question him about George's death.

Sebastian offers Matt an opportunity after his band performs in a local competition. But when he misses out on an evening with Anna because of it, the couple are forced to reconsider their relationship.

Paula and Liam support a panicked Claudie when she realizes how close she is to being sent to jail. However, Claudie isn't the only one worried about their freedom, as Liam's attempt to make some quick cash has dangerous and expensive ramifications.

Deborah's possible departure is a small recompense for Clare, who struggles to deal with Rick's insecurities in their relationship. But when Rick's frustration boils over again, he realizes there's only one way to show Clare how much he loves her.

As Clare entertains a handsome stranger, Rick grows irritated that he hasn't received an answer to his proposal, all the while dealing with mounting financial pressures. Over at the practice, tempers are flaring there, too.

Forced to confess the truth about Fiona's hold over him, Tom hopes that Frank's loyalties to his daughter will stop him from going to the police. Meanwhile, Anna insists on telling family, friends, and staff about their imminent move to Botswana.

With Fiona taken in for questioning, Anna grows uncertain about moving. When Frank reveals the truth about some old family secrets, Fiona finally learns who Tom really intended to go to Africa with.
