Thomas and Friends

Emily, a new steam engine, arrives on the Island of Sodor. When she takes Thomas’ coaches by mistake, Thomas is cross. Emily saves Thomas from a crash and he forgives her. Emily is given her own coaches and won’t take Annie & Clarabel again.

Percy discovers a section of wobbly track and is frustrated when the other engines don’t listen to him. Then, Thomas goes out on the same line and gets stuck. The Fat Controller promises to listen to Percy in the future.

Fergus gets sent to work in the quarry and, when he keeps telling Bill and Ben “to do things right”, they decide to “do it wrong". Their tricks leave Fergus trapped under a rock slide and they have to work hard to rescue him.

An old bridge collapses as Skarloey is crossing the river. It is soon repaired, but Skarloey is too frightened to cross the bridge again. But, when Rheneas breaks down, Skarloey overcomes his fear and crosses the bridge to rescue his friend.

Every year Edward loves taking the brass band to the concert. But, this year, he has an accident and has to go to the fitter’s yard. Bertie takes the band instead, but heavy rains have made the roads muddy. Fortunately, Edward is fixed just in time and comes to the rescue.

Henry doesn’t feel well. Thomas and Percy think he’s making a fuss about nothing and leave him with lots of trucks to pull. Emily notices that Henry has been leaking water and is sent to rescue him at once. Thomas and Percy are sorry for leaving Henry and he is soon mended.

When James hears the Queen of Sodor has arrived, he volunteers to collect her. But when the Queen turns out to be a filthy coal barge, he is determined to do the job and stay clean.

Peter Sam shows the refreshment lady all of Sodor's lovely sights but she can’t make up her mind where to open her new tea shop. Then Peter Sam finds an old railway coach and it makes the perfect mobile tea shop. She can now serve tea all over the countryside.

Arthur arrives on the island and is put to work with Thomas and Percy. When Thomas hears that Arthur has never been in trouble, he decides to play a trick on him, making him crash and spill his load. Arthur thinks his spotless record is ruined, but then Thomas owns up.

The windmill is damaged after a heavy storm. Toby, who loves the windmill, finds a fallen tree and gives it to the miller. The mill is soon repaired and open again – thanks to Toby.

Donald and Douglas are pleased that Sodor’s ‘Scottish’ castle is opening again. They don’t believe the stories about a monster that lives in the loch. But when they get stuck, they see something moving across the misty water. Luckily it is just a ferry bringing Harvey to rescue them.

Rheneas is taking some school children on a school trip and wishes he had an ‘important’ job. But when he finds himself on a dangerous line, he realises that delivering his passengers safely is the most important job of all.

Salty is upset when Thomas and Percy make fun of his seafaring ways. But when the lighthouse lamp goes out in a storm, Salty has an idea that saves the day.

Oliver doesn’t like snow but has to take the school children to a mountain village, where he gets stuck for the night. By morning the snow has made him look like a snow engine. The school children are delighted. Maybe there is something nice about snow after all!

Arthur wants the new route to the fishing village, but is too shy to ask for it. The Fat Controller gives Thomas the new route, but when he derails, Arthur steps in. Thomas tells Arthur how much he hates the smell of fish. Arthur wishes for the courage to ask for what he wants.

The narrow gauge engines are building a country park. Duncan is given the job of delivering a statue of an elephant, but he is too impatient to wait for the brake van and rushes off. The statue is very heavy and Duncan is soon a runaway train carrying the elephant!

Murdoch loves peace and quiet. When he arrives on Sodor he has to share a shed with Harvey and Salty. They won’t stop talking and Murdoch gets cross with them. But, after being stuck in the country with some noisy sheep, he is glad to be back with the other engines.

Fergus has always done things right. But when the Fat Controller sends him to the smelter’s yard, he thinks he is going to be scrapped. Fergus breaks the rules for the first time and runs away. Thomas has to search all night to find Fergus. When Thomas tells Fergus that he is going to the smelter’s yard to WORK he is delighted. Fergus is soon the Pride of the Smelter’s Yard.

Bulgy the Bus is cleaned and put back on the road. But the passengers get cross when his chickens return to their old home. Bulgy decides that he doesn’t want to carry passengers, or chickens, again.

The engines are getting ready for the vicar’s fete and Harold feels left out as he is on rescue duty. But when the horse-ride horse gets stuck, Harold rushes to pick up the horse and fly her to the fete.

The Fat Controller is always telling Skarloey off for being late. When a series of break downs mean The Fat Controller is late for the opening of a new line, Skarloey is there just in time to pick collect him.

All the engines are to be decorated for the Best Dressed Engine competition – except Gordon who thinks it is silly. But when a big colourful banner gets caught on his funnel, Gordon gets voted the best dressed engine after all.

When Spencer comes to the island, Gordon is very sad as he’s not the fastest or grandest engine anymore. But when Spencer runs out of water, Gordon comes to the rescue. Suddenly Gordon feels special again.

When Elizabeth gets sent to collect a shipment of Christmas puddings, Thomas is jealous and Elizabeth thinks Thomas is not reliable. When Elizabeth gets stuck in the snow, Thomas comes to the rescue. Elizabeth admits that Thomas is reliable after all.

Rusty discovers a bridge that needs repairing and warns everyone that it is too dangerous to cross. Duncan doesn’t want to listen to a diesel and crosses the bridge anyway. When he breaks down and the bridge starts to collapse, Rusty races to the rescue and tows Duncan off the bridge.
