Stafford runs off a battery and is very quiet. When he overhears some children saying he does not sound like a proper engine, he is very upset.

Thomas tries to help Gordon when he springs a leak after being hit by a loose rock that Paxton is carrying back from the quarry.

Playful Paxton convinces Thomas to join him in being silly by driving over a stretch of bumpy track but doesn't realise that his actions will make Thomas 'lose his puff'. Concerned, Paxton races around the island searching for Thomas' lost puff only to find out that it was never lost in the first place!

The Fat Controller gives Kevin a special job - helping the overworked Cranky at Brendam Docks. The delighted Kevin has never heard of a crane receiving a special before and is enthusiastic to help out!

Scruff loves shunting Sodor's rubbish, but it does make him dirty. When The Fat Controller sees him, he orders a repaint. But Scruff hates being washed and doesn't want a makeover!

Flynn and Belle worry when a visiting team of railway inspectors question whether Sodor needs two fire engines.

Caitlin, a big fast passenger engine from the mainland, is forced to stay the night when the Vicarstown Bridge is closed for repairs.

The Fat Controller has not been driving Winston long and his driving skills leave Winston embarrassed. One day The Fat Controller leaves Winston's handbrake off and Winston is sent on an adventure around Sodor!

Hiro and Diesel disagree about the best way to deal with the troublesome trucks.

When Salty develops engine trouble, a new steam engine, Porter, arrives to help out. Salty becomes convinced that Porter has been sent to replace him and that he will be sent away from the docks.

Thomas and Bertie love racing, but Thomas gets annoyed when Bertie starts winning all the time. Thomas decides to try to take a shortcut too, despite Annie and Clarabel's objections, and soon realises the error of his ways.

After seeing James tease Percy for being scared of the dark, Henry challenges James to take the Flying Kipper for him.

Bill and Ben, the tank engine twins, tease Harvey the crane engine about having a hook. Porter helps Harvey see the positive side of being both a crane and an engine, encouraging him to help pull some trucks.

Stephen is very excited when the Earl asks him to collect the ingredients for the afternoon teas at the Castle. Worried about being too slow, Stephen asks Thomas and the other engines to give him a push and he's soon speeding along..

Hiro teaches Henry that sometimes it is best to keep puffing, even if you are burning bad coal.

One day, up at the Blue Mountain Quarry, Luke finds a nervous and scared young deer. He wants to help the young deer so he tries to get the other engines to work quietly.

Luke meets Millie at Ulfstead Castle. Comparing their jobs, they boast about how much they like their own work. The Earl suggests that they switch jobs for a day. By the end of the day both engines are firm friends but realise that they have their own jobs for a reason.

One day Charlie discovers an elephant on the line and tries to alert the other engines, but they all think he is joking.

When Harold breaks down, Duck and Thomas are asked to take him for repair. Excited, Thomas wants to take Harold on a tour of Sodor. However, Duck insists that there are only two ways to do things: the Great Western Way and the wrong way. Going off route is not part of the Great Western Way! Thomas and Duck have to learn the best way to work together.

James tricks Percy and Stephen into believing that "The Phantom Express" is roaming around Ulfstead Castle.

When the turntable is freezes and only one berth is accessible Gordon thinks he should have it, but Thomas insists that they need to save it for Percy who is out on the mail run.

A couple of mishaps involving a torn sack of mail and some cargo on the line make Percy feel unlucky. Stephen lends Percy a lucky charm to get him back on the right track.

It is a snowy day but Thomas doesn't want to wear his snow plough and so he decides to hide it in a siding. As it is unsafe The Fat Controller says Thomas must stay in his shed, missing out on all the snowy fun.

Bill, or is it Ben, plays a trick on the speedy Connor. When The Fat Controller realises that it is both Bill and Ben playing a prank, he sends Bill to the Steamworks to be repainted so the troublesome twins are distinguishable from each other.

No one knows who is taking the Steamies' Christmas decorations from Tidmouth Sheds, until Percy discovers Diesel 10 stealing them!
